Davante Adams was traded to the New York Jets on Tuesday from the Las Vegas Raiders after requesting a trade this season. The Jets traded the Raiders a conditional third-round pick that could become a second-round pick if Adams is an All-Pro or active for the AFC Championship game/Super Bowl.

Adams played in the Raiders' first three games this season before being sidelined with a hamstring injury that led him to miss the Raiders' last three games.

Upon being traded to New York, Adams is expected to make his debut with the Jets this Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

"Jets HC Jeff Ulbrich confirmed that WR Davante Adams — who has missed the past three games due to a hamstring injury — is expected to play Sunday vs. the Steelers," ESPN NFL reporter Adam Schefter tweeted.

Upon planning to play Sunday night, fans called out Adams for faking his injury with the Raiders. Fans think Adams was healthy enough to play, but given that he was expected to be traded, he was inactive.

Here's how fans reacted to the news of Adams expecting to play on Sunday:

"He was never injured lol," one fan said.
"The healing power of money and a new address," one fan said.
"Impeccable timing for that injury to heal," a fan wrote.

Almost all of the replies to the news of Adams being active for Sunday night's game are about him faking his injury.

Other fans jokingly commented that the Jets' medical staff must be much better than Las Vegas. Others also think Adams quit on the Raiders while still being there.

Here's how fans reacted:

"Wow those Jets doctors deserve an award for healing him," a fan said.
"Ni**a was never hurt he just had to get off that trash team," a fan wrote.
"Ah, the healing power of a better situation…." a fan wrote.

There were several teams interested in trading for wide receiver Davante Adams. One of those teams was the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Last week, the Steelers faced the Las Vegas Raiders, who at the time had Adams on their roster. Mike Tomlin's Steelers were preparing for Adams last week and will now prepare for him as the Steelers face the Jets this Sunday night.

Tomlin spoke about having to gameplan for Adams a seconds-straight week.

Tomlin said:

"I was getting ready for Davante Adams last week. I’m now getting ready for Davante Adams this week.”

Tomlin was asked if the Steelers were in the running services for Adams. Tomlin brushed that off.

"Doesn’t matter. Experience has taught me to talk about my people and not talk about hypotheticals and potentials because it is a fruitless endeavor,” Tomlin said.

Sunday night's game will be held at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh, PA., as the 4-2 Steelers host the 2-4 Jets. A win for either team is big, as Russell Wilson will make his 2024 NFL debut during Davante Adams' first game with the Jets.
