The NFC North just got a big endorsement as the NFL season approaches the halfway point. Tim Walz, the current Governor of Minnesota and Kamala Harris' running mate, visited Green Bay, Wisconsin on Wednesday afternoon for a rally.

With the Presidential Election less than three weeks away, candidates are traveling the country to rally voters. Walz, a former high school football coach and a diehard Minnesota Vikings fan, told those in attendance at the rally that he was visiting Lambeau Field for the first time.

During his remarks, he expressed his belief that the Super Bowl, as well as the race for the White House and control of the Senate, would run through the NFC North.

"I came just a few minutes ago from Lambeau Field. First visit, my staff was like, don't say anything about the Vikings. I said, 'That's like telling somebody not to swear in church, of course you don't do that.' What do they think? I'm a football guy, that's like a religious experience over there but, look, we may not see eye-to-eye on that part of it but, I can tell you that we're all going to agree on this."

"This year, the road to the Super Bowl, the road to control the Senate and the road to control the White House, goes right through the NFC North," Walz told the crowd at a rally in Wisconsin.

The crowd appreciated that even as a Vikings fan, Tim Walz could acknowledge that the entire NFC North is the division to beat this season.

NFC North is poised to send multiple teams to playoffs

The 2024 NFL season is entering its seventh week and the NFC North has surprised everyone with their success right out of the gate. The division is the first since 1970 to have all four teams with at least four wins in the first six weeks. The Minnesota Vikings remain the lone undefeated team in the NFC with a 5-0 record.

According to The Athletic's Austin Mock, the NFC North currently has a small chance to make NFL history, with a 7% chance that the Vikings, Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears could all make the playoffs.

With three wildcard spots up for grabs, the division is in prime position to achieve this. According to Mock, no other division has three teams, let alone four teams, that all currently have a record above .500. Additionally, these teams are also ranked in the top four in point differential through the first six weeks. The upcoming Week 7 matchup between the Vikings and Lions on Sunday will be one to watch this week.
