Jordan Addison made it to the first day of the Minnesota Vikings training camp. However, after the session, the wide receiver was subjected to questions regarding his DUI arrest earlier this month. Addison shared his feelings and thought process on the matter.
Vikings WR Addison was arrested on July 12 for DUI near the LAX airport in Los Angeles, as per Daily News. The 22-year-old was caught sleeping behind the wheels of his white Rolls-Royce and blocking lane no. 1 on the freeway.
Jordan Addison faced several questions regarding this incident at the camp. The WR revealed to the media his thought process during this time.
“Didn’t think it was going to be how it was," Addison said. "But it was really important. I was in a dark place. I was feeling down”
The youngster also credited his teammates and coaches for supporting him during this ordeal:
“They really uplifted me, uplifted me to come out here and just perform at a high level still. So, through everything that’s going on, I’m going to put it behind me and I’m still going to perform at a high level, come out here give the fans what they pay for.”
Last year before the camp, Addison faced issues for his actions behind the wheel as well. On July 20, 2023, he was cited for reckless driving at 140 mph in a 55 mph zone in his Lamborghini.
Jordan Addison is ready to face the piper
After a couple of issues related to his behavior, the youngster is ready to slow down. During his media appearance, Jordan Addison admitted to wrongdoing and is ready to face any punishment:
“I’m not sure what’s going on. I own up to whatever it is, whatever disciplinary actions that come my way. I’m going to stand tall, get through it. Whatever is out there for me, I’m going to stand on all 10 and take whatever come with it. I own up to everything. I feel anything that comes my way was meant to happen or is deserved. So, I’ll do what I do.”
The Vikings admitted to knowing about the arrest of the WR but have not issued any form of retribution for the WR to date.
