“This thing could break” – Jerry Jones spills the beans on where Cowboys are at in Odell Beckham Jr. race

Jerry Jones reveals Cowboys are still eyeing Odell Beckham Jr.

Odell Beckham Jr. is still available on the market as teams have backed away from signing the coveted receiver due to his injury concerns. After his medical with the Dallas Cowboys, it was revealed that OBJ might not be available to play until next season.

Following the revelation of this news, the Cowboys signed T.Y. Hilton while the Buffalo Bills brought back Cole Beasley. However, Jerry Jones has still not ruled out the possibility of bringing in OBJ.

Here's what ESPN's Todd Archer reported about Jerry Jones' pursuit of the former Los Angeles Rams receiver:

"Jerry Jones acknowledged if Odell Beckham Jr. signs it has to be sooner rather than later. How soon? 'I don’t want to talk about that but stand by,' Jones said as the NFL owners’ meetings ended Tuesday at the Four Seasons Dallas. 'This thing could break.'"

With Odell Beckham Jr. unlikely to feature even in the playoffs this season, it doesn't make sense for any team to bring him in at this point in the season.

He is expected to have a bigger market after the end of the season, and that might help Beckham get more money than he would get now. The Dallas Cowboys will remain the team to watch out for in the OBJ sweepstakes.

Recent reports have emerged that after all the noise, Odell Beckham Jr. will look to sit out this season. He seems destined to sign with a new team once the campaign ends.

It will give him enough time to get back to 100% and have workouts with the teams that are interested in him. Recovering from an ACL injury is tough, and OBJ needs to be at his best if he wants to get a big contract.

Teams like the Dallas Cowboys, Buffalo Bills, New York Giants, Kansas City Chiefs, and the Green Bay Packers are likely to remain interested in Beckham. Moreover, the quarterback situation around multiple teams could change after this season, and that might have an effect on where he intends to sign.

The Cowboys were the favorites to sign him now, but there would be no point in bringing him in now if he can't play on the field. They still have a dynamic offense and will hope to get the star receiver for next season. We will see what transpires in the coming weeks, or maybe months.
