Tom Brady is staring down what could be the last few weeks of him in shoulder pads. No matter how the next month and a half goes, the quarterback will be faced with the same question at the end: Will the quarterback call it quits after the end of the 2022 season?

Former teammate Rob Ninkovich revealed what the quarterback was thinking while speaking on Get Up:

"You have to evaluate the year that you're playing in. Each and every year is different. Some years you feel great, some years you're injured. The next year you're like, 'I could do this for five more years.'"

He continued, explaining how a down season could motivate the quarterback to start over in a new career:

"And then you have some years like this where you're like, 'You know what? I'm ready. I'm ready to move on. I want to go do something else. I want to go to the next phase of my life.' And when you look at Tampa Bay, you can't put it all on Tom. But there are moments where you're like, ‘Yo, this doesn't look good.’"

After Week 8 ended, Brady was 3-5 and seemed to be on the precipice of falling off the cliff. However, by the end of Week 13, he had slowly clawed the team back to .500 at 6-6 and were an overtime period away from being 7-5.

Still, at 6-6, many believed that the quarterback was back in great form.

Instead, the team ran into the San Francisco 49ers who, despite trotting out a backup quarterback, managed to beat the Buccaneers into submission by a score of 35-7. After that, the quarterback had to face Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals.

Despite securing a 17-0 lead at one point, the team and the quarterback unravelled, ultimately losing by multiple scores. Heading into Week 16, they are back where they were at the conclusion of Week 8 at two games below .500.

Will the final chapter of his season (or even his career) be one of victory as a late surge lets the team coast to the playoffs or will it be a moment the quarterback will later remember as the final nail in the coffin?
