Detroit Lions pass rusher Aidan Hutchinson is expected to miss the remainder of the 2024 season following leg surgery. Hutchinson suffered a gruesome injury in Detroit's lopsided win over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.

Hutchinson suffered a broken tibia and fibula and was transported to Baylor White Medical Center in Irving, Texas for immediate surgery.

It was a frustrating injury for Hutchinson, one of the league's best pass rushers. Jason Kelce is hopeful Hutchinson returns to full health soon.

"We saw Aidan Hutchinson go down with a very graphic injury, almost like an MMA style. Hopefully he's alright and he'll get back eventually, when he gets healthy," Kelce said on his New Heights Podcast.

Travis Kelce, meanwhile, says it s**cks to see an elite pass rusher like Hutchinson go down with a season-ending injury.

"That sh-- sucks, man, it sucks for the game of football, man, and obviously it sucks for him and his family," Travis said. "Man, nobody likes to see an injury, let alone one like that. And hopefully he gets right back to full strength as fast as possible, knowing how amazing of a player he is."

Aidan Hutchinson recorded 7.5 sacks and a forced fumble this season in five games.

Following the Detroit Lions' blowout win to the Dallas Cowboys, Dan Campbell provided an update on Aidan Hutchinson's injury.

Campbell said it's a tough injury to deal with but says Hutchinson is in good care.

"It's tough. He's in good hands right now," Campbell said, via NFL.com. "He's being taken care of. He'll stay back here. Obviously, he's going to be down for a little while. That's tough. It's hard to lose someone like him but we'll know a lot more after this and obviously wish him the best."

Hutchinson has been the Lions' top defensive player this season and was one of the favorites to win Defensive Player of the Year.

Lions defensive linebacker Alex Anzalone said losing Hutchinson is tough to the defense and the injury was tough to see.

"It's obvious how good he is and how great of a player he is on the field and what he does for our team schematically and what type of season he was having," Anzalone said of Hutchinson after the game.
"Just to see him in that situation it kind of just brings you back down to earth. We're playing a violent and dangerous sport … to see him go out like that is tough just from a human aspect."

The Lions will return to the field on Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings.
