The Houston Texans will be without star wide receiver Nico Collins for the next few weeks. He has a hamstring injury that will now put the Texans in a tough spot in terms of their passing game, as he gets placed on IR.

Once the news began circulating on X on Wednesday morning, fans were devastated to hear about Collins' injury. Collins is leading the league in receiving yards with 567 yards, which will surely put the Texans offense into a tailspin.

Many described Collins' absence from the Texans offense as a 'huge loss' while others noted other players needing to step up. Many fans expect wide receiver Tank Dell to be the 'next man up' in the passing game.

"Tank Dell stock just went up," a fan said.

Some fantasy football owners were also concerned, as Nico Collins is the headliner of their teams. Others worried about quarterback C.J. Stroud's performance now that he lost his top receiver. Of course, there were also suggestions that the Houston Texans should now trade for wide receiver Davante Adams.

"And all the fantasy teams he's carrying..." one fan said.
"Could be crippling for Stroud for sure," one suggested.
"Adams you wanna be a Texan?" one fan asked.

Fans applauded the season Collins was having through the first five weeks of this season as well as all of the 2023 NFL season. The wide receiver has been one of the best in the NFL since the start of 2023, averaging 93.2 yards per game as 12.1 yards per target.

"Damn this is so sad he was fully breaking out as an ELITE top 5 WR," one fan said.

What is WR Nico Collins' injury status?

In the first quarter of Sunday's Week 5 matchup against the Buffalo Bills, wide receiver Nico Collins caught a 67-yard touchdown pass from C.J. Stroud. During the play, he injured his hamstring and didn't return to the game.

On Wednesday, the Houston Texans placed Collins on the Injured Reserve list, confirming that Collins will be out for at least four weeks. As of right now, Collins will be out through Week 9.

The Houston Texans will now remain hopeful that Collins' hamstring injury will take just four weeks and they will have him back sooner rather than later.
