Snoop Dogg had nothing but high praise for C.J. Stroud as the Texans quarterback backs up his first season's rookie-of-the-year performance with a solid showing in 2024. The Houston star went through the rapper's Snoop Youth Football League a decade ago, in a program founded to give talented inner-city kids a chance to showcase their football talent.

Snoop Dogg said that C.J. Stroud acts as an inspiration and a role model for the other kids in the league right now because he shows the application that they can copy as they try to have a successful career of their own. The entertainer appeared on First Take and raved about the quarterback:

"This is beautiful for the other kids in my league when we show that. It takes a lot of mind power to be a quarterback, from the neck up. So, the information hotline is really translating very well in the community. As far as, how he receives information, how he translates that, how he gets out here, plays quarterback."

Snoop Dogg also added that there was a time not too long ago when being a quarterback was not seen as something black athletes could do. The stereotype was that there were plays that they could not process and C.J. Stroud is helping to break that wall down. The rapper continued:

"So that's what we teaching now, as far as the thinking process of being a quarterback. Because there used to be a time where they said people of our color couldn't run that, we can't do what he do."

In addition to that, Snoop Dogg paid tribute to C.J. Stroud's leadership skills. The singer said he is impressed by the way the Texans quarterback remains spiritual, commands the locker room, and remains grounded. Calling the player's overall persona ambassadorial, the entertainer added:

"He doing it well from day one, because he been A-one from day one. And he represent the league in a beautiful way, because he keeps spirituality, keeps the locker room in tune, as far as being a leader and understanding who he is as a person. And that's a beautiful reflection in my football league. So he's a true honor."

C.J. Stroud's rise has been meteoric and it looks likely that he will lead the Texans to greater heights if he keeps playing the way he is. Snoop Dogg, for one, is very proud of having played a part in that story.
