Former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers star Rob Gronkowski suggested Bill Belichick might entertain phone calls from one AFC South team. The eight-time Super Bowl champion finished a 24-year partnership with the Patriots last season and awaits a new coaching opportunity.

Gronkowski, who accompanied Belichick during several of his championship runs, named the Jacksonville Jaguars a potential suitor for the 72-year-old. The Jaguars are currently 0-4 and have regressed since coach Doug Pederson took charge.

"I think coach Belichick will pick up the phone if the Jacksonville Jaguars call and they have a head coach vacancy. No doubt about that. I believe that coach Belichick does believe he belongs in the coaching world. I think he's doing a great job in the media this year, but I think he will be back in the NFL next year...
"But I feel like he will take the call, because they had Tom Kaufman in there before, who's under the same coaching tree as Bill Belichick. And you know that tough mentality, that old school type of football, so they understand the discipline of Coach Belichick."

Belichick clashed with the Jaguars multiple times during his career. His highlight against Jacksonville came in the 2017 AFC Championship Game when the Pats claimed a comeback 24-20 win over their conference rival.

While recent offseason rumors linked him to several teams, and he interviewed with the Atlanta Falcons, Belichick is waiting for next year's openings. Considering how some teams are playing this fall, he should have plenty of options.

Bill Belichick flames potential new team after its rough start to the season

One of the teams mentioned as an offseason Bill Belichick destination are the Philadelphia Eagles. Some believe he'll get the chance to apply for that job if Nick Sirianni fails. The sideline icon already notices what's wrong with Philly.

"I think the bye week probably is a good time for these guys. Philly may have a chance to get these receivers back, as well as Lane Johnson, and get some of their key players back on offense, but it's a challenge. They've lost ten of their last 13 games."

After adding Saquon Barkley from the Giants and retaining some of the pieces that helped them contend in 2022, the Eagles have struggled to find consistency this season. With losses to the Falcons and Buccaneers, Philadelphia is going through a rough time, and Bill Belichick could be their saving grace.
