Jalen Hurts and the Eagles went through a momentous meltdown in the latter half of last season. Several rumors circled about a breakdown of the relationship between the quarterback and the head coach. However, the latest reports on this front have fans worried.

The Philadelphia Eagles drafted Hurts in 2020, while Nick Sirianni joined the team as head coach in 2021. Under Sirianni, Hurts became the No. 1 starter for the team. However, their relationship still has many things to be worked on.

As per The Athletic, despite last season's collapse later on, things weren’t working out for the duo throughout the year. And with a bit more than a month remaining until the start of the next season, Hurts and Sirianni are reportedly working on their relationship.

The NFL fans were quick to point out that this would not bode well for the team. This ‘disconnect’ could hamper their chances against formidable opponents.

“This a recipe for disaster lol just fire son now cuz Jalen not going anywhere,” a fan said.
“Lmao off to a great start eagles,” another added.

Some fans questioned took a dig at these patch-up reports given that both Jalen Hurts and Nick Sirianni have gone to the Super Bowl and spent considerable time together.

“Making a sb and still not having a good relationship is crazy”, wrote one fan.
“5 years together and still a work in progress”, wrote another on X (previously Twitter).

Some fans pointed fingers at the head coach for this lack of understanding between the duo.

“Sirianni is an arrogant dude”, wrote one fan.
“Jalen is more mature thats the problem”, wrote another fan.

Former wide receiver points out reason for Eagles' fallout: Jalen Hurts and Nick Sirianni will need a new playbook

The Eagles started the 2023–24 season on a high, with their record being 10-1 at one point. However, they derailed in the second half, culminating in an 11-6 record. Finally, they lost their wild-card matchup to dash their Super Bowl hopes.

Former Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Harry Douglas pointed out that Jalen Hurts and the Eagles’ collapse came down to not being able to deal with opponents’ blitz.

The team will have to prepare accordingly this season so that their plays don’t get stale heading into the clutch part of the season. It happened last season after going 10-1 and then going on a six-game losing streak.

Also, with the retirement of Jason Kelce, the famous ‘tush push’ of the Eagles will need to be revisited. Even though the play has been declared legal, several analysts and fans expect the end of it, despite the 'tush push' being one of the most favored plays of Hurts and Siriani.

As such, both Sirianni and Jalen Hurts will require a working relationship to get ahead this season.
