Los Angeles Rams offensive tackle Conor McDermott had a valuable item stolen from his car on Thursday. According to TMZ, which first reported the incident, his team-issued iPad containing highly confidential game material was stolen.

The iPad was stolen from his car, which was parked in a residential area, and the LAPD is investigating the theft, though no arrests have been made so far. No statement, however, has been made by the police department regarding any possible suspects in the matter.

NFL teams usually give their team players digital devices loaded with playbooks, strategies and practice footage ahead of games so that players can go through them and prepare for upcoming games.

But it's unlikely that Rams coach Sean McVay's entire playbook would be leaked, jeopardizing the team's outing against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday Night Football. Apple allows users to remotely erase all data from their devices if lost or stolen.

Why the Rams are not in a position to make any blockbuster trades

The New York Jets and the Buffalo Bills recently made headlines by making the Davante Adams and Amari Cooper trades, respectively. The Rams, who are down 1-4 this season so far, desperately need more weapons.

On the offensive side of the ball, they need a tight end or a wideout, while on the defense, they need a CB and an LB. Sean McVay's team-building strategy has changed from what it was even two years ago.

Besides, they don't have enough leverage in the 2025 NFL Draft. Due to the Braden Fiske trade, they don't have their second-round pick and will only get their chance at round number three. But in the third round, they have two picks because of the Raheem Morris hire.

However, the problems engulfing the Rams aren't what could be solved by a single player. The team needs to invest in a thorough team-building exercise, which might take years to complete.
