If the Raiders are unable to find a trade partner, Carr could be cut before the February 15th deadline. According to ESPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler, Raiders general manager Dave Ziegler could release Carr ahead of the Pro Bowl game.

Fowler said:

"A league exec openly wondered this week whether the Raiders would cut Derek Carr before he participates in the Pro Bowl flag football game Sunday since an injury there could trigger his $40.4 million guarantee early."

With all of the news swirling regarding his future, the former Fresno State star joked about it at the Pro Bowl Games.
