"What a throw by Cousins"; "One hell of a catch": Falcons fans go wild as Darnell Mooney makes incredible TD 

Darnell Mooney has been excellent for the Atlanta Falcons this season, establishing himself as WR2 in a group where many offensive players were drafted high in previous years. And in a game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he shone with the whole country watching.

As both teams started the game offensively hot, Mooney was responsible for an excellent catch in the end zone where he was missed by opposing defenders, yet was able to hold the ball and fell into the end zone to score. It was a beautiful throw, but the catch over triple coverage was even better.

After the touchdown was scored, NFL fans hopped on to X/Twitter to celebrate the incredible play made by the Falcons wide receiver, who showed to the entire country why he was able to fit into an offense full of high draft picks:

Darnell Mooney joined the Falcons this season after spending the first four years of his career with the Chicago Bears. He struggled with his production mostly because he played with below-average quarterbacks, and when the Bears drafted Caleb Williams, he hit free agency and did not re-sign with the franchise.

With a team full of offensive stars, it's unlikely that he'll ascend to be a star at some point. He's a solid wide receiver who certainly has a place in the NFL, but the discussion about being a valuable fantasy option is not a real one.

In Atlanta's first game, he had a single reception over three targets. More games like these will be coming in the next few weeks. That's not the type of guy you want to start regularly, only in a few selected matchups. That's not to say he won't be getting any targets. He will feature as well as a good WR2 in Atlanta's offense

He amassed 210 receiving yards over the past three games, but his role on the offense isn't guaranteed to be massive every week. But as he has shown with this amazing touchdown catch, he's also not a player that you can forget: he's always ready to pounce.
