Patrick Mahomes responds to flag football QB calling out Chiefs star over LA Olympics team spot

Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes has cemented his legacy as one of the best quarterbacks of his generation. However, after several NFL stars expressed their desire to participate in the LA Olympics in 2028, he was singled out by the QB of the USA flag football team. Now he has responded.

Darrell Doucette, who led the US team to win the gold medal in the 2022 World Games, did not shy away from sharing his feelings. In an interview with TMZ on Wednesday, Doucette called out Patrick Mahomes.

“At the end of the day, I feel like I'm better than Patrick Mahomes because of my IQ of the game," Doucette said. "I'm not saying I'm a better player overall but until he steps on a 5v5 flag field, I'm going to feel that way until it’s proven otherwise. I'm a competitor and need to be proven wrong.”

Doucette also called out the entire NFL for their lack of experience and expertise in flag football. However, after getting singled out, it didn't go down well with the three-time Super Bowl champion.

Mahomes took to X and posted a gif of rapper 50 Cent. Although the gif did not have sound, in the popular meme 50 Cent said:

“I’m like what he say f*ck me for?”

Without needing to say any words, Mahomes made his thoughts about Doucette’s interview clear.

Patrick Mahomes isn’t the only QB looking for an Olympic medal

While Patrick Mahomes made his intentions known about participating in the Olympic event in 2028, one more superstar QB has done the same. During his appearance on the ‘Pardon My Take’ podcast in July, Joe Burrow outlined his intentions.

“That’d be sick, wouldn’t it? ... I really wanna play for the flag football team.”

This gives more context to Mahomes’ reaction since he isn’t the only QB who wants the top job in the 2028 LA Olympics flag football event.
