As if losing to the New England Patriots in the season opener wasn't bad enough, worse news awaited Cincinnati Bengals fans. Wideout Tee Higgins injured his hamstring during a practice session ahead of the New England game and was a no-show for the 10-16 defeat on Sunday.

However, Higgins might miss the next week as well, with Cincinnati having to face the Kansas City Chiefs, the reigning Super Bowl champions.

"Bengals WR Tee Higgins, who missed last week’s game due to a hamstring injury, was not spotted practicing today ahead of Sunday’s game vs. the Chiefs," NFL insider Adam Schefter tweeted on Wednesday.

Dismayed Bengals fans poured in with their reactions.

One fan hinted that this might indicate that Higgins won't be playing against the Chiefs on Sunday:

"not a good sign at all."

Another user said that the absence of Tee Higgins at receiver will be a:

"Huge blow for the team."

Other users said that the Bengals are in shambles.

"Between this and the (Ja'Marr) Chase contract issues which bled into Week 1, Bengals season is quickly looking a lot worse than expected," one fan wrote.
"The Bengals are a mess and I hate it. Used to it, but hate it," another fan posted.
"Tee Higgins is always hurt man," one user wrote.
"I think the Bengals fans are in for a rough ride," another sympathized.

Tee Higgins is on track to full recovery

Although Cincinnati coach Zac Taylor hasn't given a timeline, Higgins seems to be "making good progress." He has been designated "day-to-day"

For now, the Bengals are all focused on prepping for the upcoming Chiefs game.

"Just about bringing energy to the table and getting excited about what we got in store for these guys, and I expect that to happen," Taylor said.

The Bengals lost their last two games against the Chiefs. Will the third time be a charm for Tee Higgins' team?
