The Cowboys' interest in Beckham Jr. appears to be losing traction

The Odell Beckham Jr. to the Dallas Cowboys story that was once a runaway train, is now slowing down rapidly. After visiting Dallas for two days, Beckham Jr. left without a contract.

From various reports, the biggest issue, as many have anticipated, is the health of the receiver's twice surgically repaired ACL. With the 30-year-old not working out for any of the three teams he visited - Buffalo Bills, New York Giants, Cowboys - the receiver's future is up in the air.

However, the man himself posted a cryptic tweet of a chess piece after information about the health of his knee escaped the confines of the Cowboys organization, thanks to ESPN's Ed Werder.

Nothing came of the other meetings, with the Bills or Giants. One fan has a theory as to what the receiver's tweet was about.

Now, this doesn't mean that the receiver will not end up signing with the Cowboys. But it is interesting that after all the much-publicized chase of the 30-year-old, he left Dallas without a contract. Other NFL fans gave their thoughts on the receiver's tweet.

It appears that many are over the Odell Beckham Jr. situation and just want it to be resolved one way or another.

The free-agent receiver will likely take his time to make a decision. With all three interested teams - Bills, Giants, and Cowboys - in the playoffs as of now, it looks a difficult choice.

The other sticking point in any potential deal is the money. Let's not forget that for the Cowboys, the contracts of Micah Parsons, CeeDee Lamb, and Trevon Diggs will all be coming up in the next year or two. Jerry Jones will need some serious salary cap space to get all three of those deals done.

Then, if we add Beckham Jr. to the mix and his reported want of a $20 million a year deal, it makes it difficult. Not impossible, just difficult.

While many thought that the Odell Beckham Jr. saga was close to ending with his three visits, it appears that it has only just begun.
