Patrick Mahomes solidified his position as NFL's current leading quarterback after taking his team through the playoffs and earning his third ring. However, the NFL players believe that Lamar Jackson is better than Mahomes, if the NFL Top QB list is to be believed.

So, fans online stood up for the 2024 Super Bowl MVP and put a question mark on the entire process.

Every year, the current crop of players vote for each other, and this gets compiled into the NFL Top 100 list. This year, the NFL released its 14th such list, and it threw many curveballs for the fans.

The Kansas City Chiefs QB found himself to be occupying the fourth spot, while Tyreek Hill captured the first place. When accounting for only the quarterbacks, the Baltimore Ravens man gets the pole position, since he is the No. 2 on the Top 100 list.

The NFL fans hit back at this voting system, calling out the players that made Jackson get the top position despite losing the AFC Championship game, against Patrick Mahomes.

“Players are dumb as hell”
“This is why players don’t work in front offices after retiring”
“Drug test the players that put Lamar over Mahomes,” wrote one fan on X (previously Twitter).
“Further proof NFL players have been hit in the head too many times,” wrote another fan.

Some fans labeled the list highly biased, not favoring Patrick Mahomes since he’s been defeating players all around the league.

“Even Raven fans think Mahomes should be 1. Weird to have Lamar higher,” wrote one fan.
“Lmao oh Sh*t they really hate Pat,” wrote another fan.

Where were Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson ranked last year?

Last year also, Patrick Mahomes claimed a Super Bowl win and was ranked at the top position by his peers. However, Lamar Jackson was not in the top 50.

The Ravens QB was voted the 72nd-best player in the league. With an MVP season under him, Jackson jumped 71 places in the eyes of fellow footballers.

However, Mahomes will have a chance to show his superiority as the Chiefs welcome the Ravens for the season opener. This AFC Championship rematch and the battle of the top QBs will take place on September 5 at the Arrowhead Stadium.
