K-pop star Jungkook enjoys a huge following; however, the South Korean artist had an opportunity to spread his fandom even more earlier this year. As per New Yorker Magazine, R&B artist Usher invited him to perform at the 2024 Super Bowl halftime show.

However, due to mandatory military service, Jungkook wasn't available for the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers Super Bowl halftime show.

His fans wondered aloud the significance of his performance at one of the biggest stages ever.

“JUNGKOOK WOULD'VE SLAYED”
“Would have been an epic performance,” wrote one fan.
“IM SOBBING I CANT DIGEST THE FACT,” wrote another fan.

Several fans were angry that the K-Pop star was enlisted for Army service, despite having time to fulfill his mandatory service to his nation.

“He didn't need to enlist for at least 4 years. His own company sabotaged his chance to perform on one of the biggest stage of the world. This is some unforgivable sh*t.”
“Jungkook still had 4 years to enlist. but they forced him to leave only bc of BTS' 2025 cb,” wrote a fan.
“I don't understand why they forced him to enlist so soon,” wrote another fan.

Usher did not have Jungkook at the halftime show but had several stars

The R&B prince was not able to perform the song "Standing Next To You" after making an appearance in the remix version of Jungkook’s song in December 2023. However, Usher did get help from several other singers to make his performance memorable.

Usher had several of his collaborators on the stage with him. Alicia Keys, Will.i.am., Lil’ Jon, Ludacris, and more. The fans did not get to witness Jungkook’s debut solo album performance in Las Vegas earlier this year, but this invitation solidifies his mainstream appeal in the USA.
