Former Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch recently opened up about the team deciding to throw the ball at the goal line during Super Bowl XLIX.

The Seattle Seahawks lost to the New England Patriots by a close score of 28-24. The Super Bowl is remembered for its crazy ending, where the Seahawks were set to take the lead with seconds remaining in the game.

However, the team decided to throw the ball at the one-yard line instead of running it with Lynch.

Lynch spoke on the "I Am Athlete" podcast about the team's Super Bowl loss to the Patriots and thinks the team should have given him the ball at the goaline.

He said:

"I'm balling. And only thing I could do was think I need to get in his [Pete] face. So then what happened is you in that mindset of like, should have gave me the ball should have gave me the ball, it's then a third. But then what it led me do was it really got me the opportunity to see how people really felt about him. So when I walk in that, that building, that was a level of respect for me."

He said that the team missed the chance to become a dynasty with a Super Bowl loss.

He added:

"That was like the highest level of respect to the point where we at to the peak of our careers, with the opportunity to go ahead and start a dynasty and then we fumbled a bag on the two yard line. And now it's is really helping you feeling with that business. Now them deals coming in...What kind of business you got? I'm looking with myself up in this little thing right here player."

They destroyed the Denver Broncos and Peyton Manning in 2014, 43-8, in one of the most one-sided Super Bowls in NFL history.

They looked to repeat themselves as champions the very next season in 2015, when they met the Patriots the next year but lost.

Players started leaving throughout the year with Wilson and Wagner both departing last season.

While they only won one Super Bowl, they were one of the best teams in the NFL during the 2010's decade.
