"Just another jealous witch hunt by Roger Goodell" - Tom Brady did nothing wrong to get fined $11k, claims 'Trump's favorite author'

Tampa Bay Buccaneers v Dallas Cowboys
Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Tom Brady

Tom Brady has been no stranger to temper tantrums during his legendary NFL career. He has been known to get into verbal altercations with other players on the football field, as well as with coaches and referees.

He recently made headlines for smashing tablets on the sidelines when things weren't going his way in a game.

He was at it again in Week 5 of the 2022-23 NFL season when his Tampa Bay Buccaneers faced off against the Atlanta Falcons. His temper may have gotten the better of him as he kicked Falcons star defensive tackle Grady Jarrett. He was fined $11,139 for the incident.

While the NFL believes Tom Brady deserves to be disciplined for his actions, not everyone agrees. Nick Adams, a best-selling author endorsed by former president Donald Trump, expressed his opinion in a recent tweet. Adams believes NFL commissioner Roger Goodell is targeting Brady in an effort to make an authoritative statement.

"Tom Brady did nothing wrong. This is just another jealous witch hunt from Roger Goodell."

What did Tom Brady do to get fined by the NFL in Week 5?

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Grady Jarrett
Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Grady Jarrett

Tom Brady was sacked by Atlanta Falcons defensive tackle Grady Jarrett during a crucial Tampa Bay Buccaneers drive late in the fourth quarter.

Jarrett was flagged for roughing the passer, but it was Brady who later received a fine after he appeared to attempt to kick Jarrett.

This was the second time during the same game that Brady was spotted targeting Jarrett with an alleged kick. Brady received no official punishment from the NFL for the first one though.

Brady will need to keep his temper in check if he wants to avoid further fines or a possible suspension. Repeat offenders are often penalized more harshly by the NFL front office.

The veteran will look to keep his act together in Week 6 of the regular season as the Bucs travel to Acrisure Stadium to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers. Oddsmakers favor Tampa Bay for this match, with the Steelers having last won a game back in Week 1. They have lost four straight games.
