Anthony Richardson missed his second straight game, as he didn't play against the Tennessee Titans in Week 6. The Indianapolis Colts quarterback is dealing with a hip injury, and although he came close to playing against the Titans, the team decided to sit him out to allow more time for recovery.

Joe Flacco started his second game of the season against the Titans and led them to a 20-17 win. He played quite well, throwing for 189 yards, two touchdowns and an interception.

With Flacco playing well, many thought that the team could look to continue with him and let Richardson learn from the sidelines. On the Pat McAfee Show, the veteran quarterback was asked about what he thinks of his role on the team and if he has any conversations with Richardson regarding it. He said:

"We don't have conversations like that. Every one of us in the locker room has a job and a role on this team, and the end goal is for us to be a division-winning playoff team.
"I know what my role is, and my role is to go out there and be prepared at all times, and when I am called upon, make sure that I can put our team in a position to win football games."

Joe Flacco has made it clear that he knows his role on the team, which is to be the backup quarterback and to be ready whenever he's needed. As a result, there's no quarterback controversy in Indianapolis, and the entire team understands their specific roles.

In three appearances this season, Flacco has thrown for 716 yards, seven touchdowns and one interception while completing 65.7% of his throws.

Colts coach Shane Steichen has confirmed that Anthony Richardson will start in Week 7 against the Miami Dolphins. The Colts are 3-3 on the season and are a 3.5-point favorite to win against the Dolphins.

Richardson has had a shaky start to the season but has shown glimpses of his potential, and the Colts will continue to work on his development. In four games, he has thrown for 654 yards, three touchdowns and six interceptions, completing just 50.6% of his throws. Richardson has also rushed for 141 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries.

The 22-year-old quarterback needs to work on his accuracy and making simple throws. Once he does that, the sky would be the limit for Anthony Richardson, and people around the league are aware of his potential to be a superstar quarterback.
