Jayden Daniels has been lighting up the Washington Commanders ever since the team picked him as the second overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. After losing the season opener, he has led the team to four consecutive victories going into Week 6 of the season.

Not just that, he has been setting multiple personal records as well. In the latest episode of The Pat McAfee Show, Cardinals legend JJ Watt gave props to Daniels and highlighted his records:

"If you had to vote today, I don't know how anybody votes for someone other than Jayden Daniels for MVP. I mean, what he's doing is unheard of. It's literally the first quarterback, ever since 1970, with 75+ completion percentage, 1000 passing yards, 300 rushing yards in any five-game span. Like, he's doing things that we literally haven't seen, so it's unbelievable. And he's hands down my MVP at this moment of the year."

Daniels' numbers after his first five games in the NFL are exemplary and match up to those of Robert Griffin III. On just the TD-to-INT ratio and passing yards, he was narrowly beaten by RGIII, but on every other metric he did better.

It may be too soon to say, but could Jayden Daniels become the only player in the league's history to win the title of NFL MVP in his rookie year? If he continues on the same trajectory that he has been on so far, and no major injuries hit him, that might become a reality.

Jayden Daniels shuts down Lamar Jackson comparisons

While speaking to the media about the upcoming showdown against the Baltimore Ravens, Daniels was asked what he thought about being compared to 2x NFL MVP winner, Lamar Jackson.

His response stunned everyone. A normal rookie might have felt elated at being compared to one of the best QBs in the league right now. But not Jayden Daniels.

"You always learn stuff from other quarterbacks within the league. I'm not closed-minded and I always want to be able to grow, but at the end of the day, I want to be known as Jayden Daniels and not the next such-and-such," he said.

However, it did not reek of egotism. He merely asserted that he wanted to be unique and wanted to be known for being himself, and not as the next so-and-so player.

The Commanders are set to face off against the Ravens at 1 PM ET on Sunday, October 13, at the Ravens' home stadium, M&T Bank Stadium.
