Jerry Jones is once again at the receiving end of criticism, this time in connection with star linebacker DeMarvion Overshown. On Thursday, a reporter asked Overshown why he chose '13' as his jersey number and not '0.' Overshown wore No. 0 in college while playing for Texas.

Overshown said:

"That’s Rowdy's (the Cowboys mascot) number, and you know, I guess me and Rowdy are going to have to duke it out, but nah, Rowdy my guy, and so I think Mr. Jones is going to hold on to that number for a while. Hopefully [I] look so good on the field he’ll be like, 'You know what? You can have zero.'"

The Cowboys mascot, Rowdy the Cowboy, wears the '00' jersey, and Jerry Jones made it off-limits for his players.

Several fans poured in with their support for Overshown on X.

"Jerry is the worst owner in the league," a fan said.

Another fan urged Jones to give his player the number he wanted.

"Damn Rowdy give D-Mo his number."

One fan tried to reason with Jones and said that Overshown should be given the number.

"Wait up, Rowdy is double zero. No reason Overshown can’t be zero. C’mon man!"

Another fan expressed his anger at Jones for turning a deaf ear to his players' requests.

"Jerry is tone deaf to stuff. You know, like his Players. What a Jacka**."
"Jerry a real life dictator," a fan wrote.
"Jerry is a disgrace," a fan said.

How much is Jerry Jones willing to give up to win the Super Bowl?

Jerry Jones is not just the owner of the most valuable franchise in the NFL but in the entire sports world. And he's willing to give up a large chunk of that just to win a Super Bowl, which the team hasn't done since 1995.

In a conversation with Stephen A Smith, he rubbished accusations that, for him, making money was more important than winning another Super Bowl.

"That's bull stuff. That's not the way it works. Anybody really knows me is that I'd trade two-thirds, a third of whatever percent you want to call of what the Cowboys are supposed to be worth to get us one of those Super Bowls."

After a ton of delay, Jerry Jones finally agreed to extend CeeDee Lamb and Dak Prescott's historic contracts. Now with Micah Parsons next in line, will he be as richly rewarded?
