Jerry Jones bought the Dallas Cowboys in 1989 and since then, the franchise has seen the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. However, they have never seen such a low turnout at an open practice session. And the fans hit back at the owner.

Under the ownership and management of Jones, the Dallas Cowboys have won three Super Bowls. However, the last of those came in the 1995–96 season and since then, the franchise has failed to even qualify for the NFC Championship game. Many thought that things would change after Jones’ “all-in” message earlier in the offseason.

However, that did not turn out to be the case, with several players on the roster playing out their final years. On Tuesday’s open practice session, the fans made their absence felt as well.

“Not many fans for Cowboys’ first practice in pads”

The fans quickly blamed the owner and GM, Jerry Jones for this debacle and their lack of support for America’s team.

“Jerry killed this team. We have seen this show for too long. Enough”
“Blame Jerry and Stephen. Especially Jerry. He just wants to stay relevant. Well…maybe if fans keep this up, he’ll learn it’s not enough.”

The fans wanted their message of absence loud and clear, saying that it should not reflect their appreciation for the players.

“Players...we love you and respect you. This is because of Jerry and Stephen Jones”, wrote one fan.
“This is about the Jones. Not the players”, wrote another fan.

Several fans further elaborated on their reasons for doing away with the Cowboys under the leadership of Jones’.

“This the only way, we gotta boycott the Cowboys”, wrote one fan.
“Shocker fans aren’t investing their time when the owner won’t invest in a roster”, wrote another fan.

Ezekiel Elliott's refusal to comment on empty stands at practice session

During the practice session, fan-favorite running back Ezekiel Elliot interacted with the media present.

“Don’t get me in that,” Zeke replied when asked about the possible reasons behind the emptiness in the camp from the fans’ side.

Jerry Jones recently held a press conference and clarified the meaning behind his term ‘all in’. Though it did not impress many,.
