Jason Kelce and Travis Kelce signed a promotional deal with General Mills to create their own breakfast cereal. It will reportedly be called "The Kelce Mix" and will combine Reese's Puffs, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, and Lucky Charms all into one box. The Kelce brothers have said that it's a combination of three of their all-time favorite cereals.

New York Times best-selling author Calley Means responded to the announcement on The Today Show from his personal X account. He took issue with Kelce's decision to create this type of cereal and pointed out the hypocrisy of the situation. Means pointed out that they mocked the idea of eating such cereals for breakfast because of how much sugar is in them.

Jason Kelce then responded to Calley Means from his own X account to explain his side of the decision to partner with General Mills. His lengthy explanation rejected the idea of hypocrisy and supported the concept that even relatively unhealthy options are acceptable.

"I have no problem endorsing a product that I have consumed and one that my kids have consumed," Kelce said. "I'm joking at my dad here giving it to us, and now that I am a father, my kids get cereals and high processed foods occassionally. I also sit here and eat blueberries and blackberries with them some mornings and tell them how important fruits and veggies are."
"I am very forward about my weight loss goals now that I no longer play in the NFL and believe that I preach an overall healthy lifestyle, but one that enjoys all of these things at times. Me joking on a podcast with my brother about this doesn't take away that it is still okay to have these products in moderation," he added.

Calley Means' point was based around a clip that he shared of Jason Kelce and Travis Kelce on the New Heights podcast mocking the idea of these types of cereals being served at breakfast.

They referred to them as "ridiculous" and basically "candy" rather than a nutritious meal to start the day. The author felt it was hypocritical to accept money from the same company that was previously mocked for their products.

The New Heights podcast continues to grow in popularity as the Kelce brothers appear to have found success in the entertainment business. On one of their episodes during the "Q&A" portion of the show, they were asked what their favorite breakfast cereals were growing up. The two of them had the exact same products in their three: Reese's Puffs, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, and Lucky Charms.

The New York Times reported that General Mills was made aware of their answer and directly sought them out for an endorsement deal. All three of the cereals are produced by the company, so they saw it as an opportunity to land a deal with Travis and Jason Kelce.

They collaboratively decided to combine the three products into one and call it The Kelce Mix. The new cereal is reportedly scheduled to be released in the fall, when the 2024 NFL season comes around.
