Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson suffered an injury in the second quarter against the Minnesota Vikings that stopped him from further participating in the game. However, the wide receiver’s injury brought out the worst of the NFL fans and his sister had to straighten them out.

The Packers lost to the Vikings 29-31. Despite a strong 22-point rally in the fourth quarter, the Packers fell down early and remained so throughout the game. This loss happened after Watson was hurt while trying to catch a throw from Jordan Love, colliding with Vikings linebacker Kamu Grugier-Hill.

Christian Watson walked up to the injury tent after the play but then was carried on a stretcher to the locker room. Watson’s sister Lexi Watson took to X (formerly Twitter) to pray for her brother. However, as the fans began to call out her brother for being injured, she clapped back.

"Christian works extremely hard, is a GREAT person and is just grateful every day for this opportunity. Have some respect! Positivity only on this side. We don’t play that!" she wrote on X.
“There is nothing UNLUCKY or MADE OF GLASS about that. You all need to be the people you’d wish for someone to have in your corner. It’s honestly disgusting,” Lexi Watson wrote on X.

Christian Watson and Lexi’s father, Tim Watson, was an NFL player as well. The safety played for several teams during his career.

Christian Watson's injury status

After the game, Packers coach Matt LaFleur told the media that Watson initially believed that he had suffered an ankle sprain. However, NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported that the Packers will run several tests on Monday to determine the true extent of the WR’s injury.

“Sources: The early belief is Packers WR Christian Watson suffered a high-ankle sprain during today’s game vs the Vikings. Watson will have more tests on Monday to get more clarity on the injury, which resulted in him getting carted off today.”

After suffering a defeat against the divisional foes, the Packers slid down to 2-2. The team will be on the road next time out against the Los Angeles Rams and the fans would hope for Watson to be available for the game.
