The Chicago Bears traded for Keenan Allen from the Los Angeles Chargers this offseason. Allen comes in with plenty of experience to help out rookie quarterback Caleb Williams.

However, Allen's status for Week 1 is uncertain, which could concern some fantasy owners.

Is Keenan Allen injured? Why is the Bears WR missing from practice?

Keenan Allen has been dealing with a foot injury, but he did do light practice on Sept. 2.

Allen was dealing with a minor foot injury from a cleat, but Bears general manager Ryan Poles didn't think the injury was serious.

"No, no, last week, he had a cleat issue, so some discomfort in his foot, but he should be fine," Poles said, via SI.

If Allen is healthy for Week 1, he projects to be the Bears' No. 2 wide receiver behind DJ Moore. But rookie Rome Odunze will challenge for more targets as he gets more familiar with the NFL.

Allen already has a connection with Williams, who praised the receiver in training camp.

"We'd be sitting down just eating dinner and playing cards and then we'd have a break and rattle off some plays and that was when I was first learning, and he'd kind of have an idea of what the play was," Williams said, via Fox Sports. "So it's nice having people like that around."

Allen recorded 1,243 yards and seven touchdowns from 108 receptions last season.

Keenan Allen’s fantasy outlook for 2024

Keenan Allen is a wide receiver two in fantasy football if he is healthy in Week 1.

Allen has been projected to be picked in the 70s-80s in fantasy football drafts. If Allen plays in Week 1, Sportskeeda's Who Should I Start tool has the Bears receiver recording 9.8 fantasy points in a full PPR league.

The tool suggests Washington Commanders receiver Terry McLaurin is a better fantasy option than Allen in Week 1.

The Bears open their 2024 NFL season at home on Sunday, Sept. 8, against the Tennessee Titans.
