On Friday, the New York Giants added to their secondary depth as they re-signed Adoree Jackson to a one-year deal. The former first-round draft pick spent the last three seasons with the franchise before testing the waters in free agency.

The cornerback seemingly wasn't pleased with the offers and has decided to return to the Giants for another year. The veteran has caught two interceptions, forced two fumbles and recorded three tackles for losses in New York.

With Cor'Dale Flott listed as questionable for the Giants' season-opener against the Minnesota Vikings, Jackson could be an immediate starter. Fans' reaction to Jackson's return to the franchise was mixed.

Some were pleased that the team filled a necessary hole with a familiar face. Others claimed the fact that he was a free agent until the penultimate day of August is an indictment of his talent.

"He's washed," a fan said.

Fans are seemingly divided about his ability to lockdown one side of the field.

"Big time pickup," @The_BroDad wrote.
"I hope he signed near vet min with incentives. He was a bad teammate, gave up on plays, not good defender last year. Tackling was abysmal," @tvayda opined.
"We’re so effin back," @shimngmi said.
"He's awful," @metsventpage wrote.

Giants' offseason signings: Did the team get better?

After a disappointing 2023 season where they finished 6-11, the Giants were expected to make some moves to address the issues with the roster and build a team worthy of competing for a playoff spot. However, their plan hasn't come to fruition.

Their biggest offseason signing was pass rusher Brian Burns, whom they acquired at the modest cost of a second-round pick. The rest is pretty uninspiring. They added Jon Runyan Jr. to address the O-Line issues and signed veteran running Devin Singletary to help fill the hole left by Saquon Barkley's departure.

Their biggest coup of the offseason came in the 2024 NFL draft. Fans are excited to see sixth overall pick Malik Nabers in action and are hoping the wide receiver can make some massive plays in his rookie season.

The franchise is so confident they have a superstar in the LSU alumnus that they unretired the #1 jersey and gave it to the rookie. The number was retired in 1935 to honor Ray Flaherty's contributions to the team.

Apart from that, it's been a quiet offseason for the Giants. It remains to be seen if the moves help them bounce back in the upcoming season.
