“He’s an idiot” — Dan Orlovsky rages against anonymous NFL executive’s "moronic" Josh Allen take

Former NFL quarterback and current analyst Dan Orlovsky couldn't believe an anonymous NFL executive's take on Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen.

Orlovsky has been a vocal supporter of Allen. He believes the Bills quarterback is unfairly criticized for his interceptions while not being praised for the plays he makes that other quarterbacks can't.

An anonymous NFL executive recently said that Allen is one of the more overrated players in the league. Orlovsky disagrees with that.

“He’s an idiot, that source, respectfully. That’s moronic to say. In the last four seasons, the only quarterback who has a better plus/minus turnover-to-TD ratio is Patrick Mahomes. He’s the only guy that you would definitely, without question, take over Josh Allen. They’ve lost to Kansas City three times in the playoffs. Josh Allen is two or three plays away from being a multi-Super Bowl-appearing and potentially Super Bowl-winning quarterback," Orlovsky said on "Get Up."

"He’s lost to Kansas City in the playoffs by freak defense and by a missed field goal. It’s a moronic statement to make. For some reason, Josh Allen has become the cover boy for ‘Who could be the biggest hater and say the dumbest stuff?’”

Orlovsky makes a lot of good points, as Buffalo lost to Kansas City last year due to a missed field goal. His defense allowed Mahomes and the Chiefs to get into field-goal range in 17 seconds to force overtime, which the defense again couldn't stop. That is out of Allen's control.

Last season, Allen went 385-for-579 for 4,306 yards, 29 touchdowns and 18 interceptions.

Josh Allen is one of the favorites to win MVP

Allen enters the 2024 NFL season with the second-best odds to win the MVP at +850, according to DraftKings. Allen trails only Patrick Mahomes, as +850 implies a 10.5 percent chance of winning it all.

Allen and the Bills, meanwhile, are tied for the sixth-best odds of winning the Super Bowl at +1500, which implies a 6.3 percent chance of winning it all.

Allen is entering his seventh NFL season after being drafted seventh overall by Buffalo in the 2018 NFL draft. He has yet to win an MVP in his career, despite leading the NFL in touchdowns since 2020.
