Brock Purdy has received plenty of support from fans across the NFL. However, some fans are skeptical about the 49ers QB's current situation, as he is no longer surrounded by star players.

NFL analyst & former Steelers DB Ryan Clark believes Purdy's upcoming Week 3 battle against the Los Angeles Rams could be a great moment to prove that he can also be the driver of the offense.

Speaking on a September 20 edition of "Get Up," analyst Ryan Clark was asked who needed to make a statement this weekend.

0:13 Ryan Clark "I'm going to go with Brock Purdy. ... Here's the time that he can show he can step up for his team when he doesn't have the perfect situation around him. No Christian McCaffrey, Deebo Samuel, banged up. George Kittle missing practice yesterday," he said.
"This will be his chance against the Rams to show that he doesn't need everyone around him to lift him up, that he can lift up the people that need him most," he added. Get Up

The 49ers have several injuries, but the offense is not completely devoid of talent. Even if George Kittle doesn't play, the 49ers are still expected to have Brandon Aiyuk and Jordan Mason. Mason is coming off a 100-yard rush performance and appears to have no signs of slowing down.

Additionally, with their opponent limping into the game, Purdy has perhaps as good of an opportunity to deliver offensively in Week 3 as anyone.

This week the San Francisco 49ers take on the Los Angeles Rams. Anyone who has followed the Rams this season already knows the size of the opportunity for Purdy. The Rams currently rank dead last in average yards allowed per game, per ESPN.

They are also dealing with injuries to their two biggest stars on offense in the form of Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua.

Defensively, the loss of Aaron Donald to retirement has resulted in a nosedive this season. All this sums up to be a great opportunity for the 49ers to win the game in a landslide despite the injuries to Kittle, Samuel, and Christian McCaffrey.

Will Brock Purdy capitalize on the opportunity or be greeted with a tougher battle than he bargained for?
