C.J. Gardner-Johnson has made a comeback to the Philadelphia Eagles roster. Just weeks into his second stint with the Philly team, the safety has started beefing with the Cowboys players. Gardner-Johnson and Micah Parsons took their beef public, exchanging comments online.
During last week’s encounter between the Philadelphia Eagles and the New Orleans Saints, Gardner-Johnson’s comments went viral. In hyping up his team, he relegated the Saints as “pretenders” and did not approve of their QB Derek Carr. The Eagles did win the game 15-12, but CJ’s comments did not find much appreciation.
The Dallas Cowboys’ star linebacker took to his podcast "The Edge with Micah Parsons" to call out CJ on Tuesday.
“I don't know who CJ Gardner think he is, bro,” Parsons said. “I mean, we've been dealing with this cat for a while. We just got to be a little bit real right here, like I think Derek Carr has validated himself way before CJ has ever done like to in a most respectful way.”
“CJ must have an unrealistic idea what a pretty damn team looks like, because to me, that looks like a pretty good damn defense. To me, if you're barely beating a team and the final score is 15 to 12, it probably says a lot right there. It's not like you blew them out.”
C.J. Gardner Johnson did not take these comments from Micah Parsons lightly and took to his X (formerly Twitter) to call out the star LB.
“Fam the league knows who I am (forget the narrative) @MicahhParsons11!! You can check my track record and how I over came a lot! Won a lot more playoff games than you too my guy.”
CJ has won 7 out of 8 playoff games with his teams, while Parsons has lost all 4 playoff games with the Cowboys.
Micah Parsons and C.J. Gardner-Johnson will have the chance to settle it on the field
While the beef between the players has shown no signs of slowing down, eventually this will need to be resolved in the gridiron. Micah Parsons and C.J. Gardner-Johnson will have plenty of opportunities to do so.
The NFC East rivals will play against each other twice this season. Their first matchup is scheduled for the Week 10 clash in Dallas. The return leg will be the second-last game of the regular season in Week 17 in Philadelphia.
