New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr has had some high-intensity moments throughout his career. In fact, one stat in particular shows that he has been one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL while the clock is ticking.

Carr talked with Kay Adams on the "Up and Adams Show." She asked him who has led the league in game-winning drives since 2016. The Saints quarterback was, of course, the answer to the question, as he had 30 in that time frame.

Carr said that while that may be true, the Madden video game ranked him as not being 'clutch.'

"But Madden has me as not clutch. I don't understand, it hurts my heart... Maybe it's maybe it's because they tell you you should have been winning those games. Who knows? I don't know," Carr said

Kay Adams asked Derek Carr why he feels that nobody is talking about the number of game-winning drives he has had since 2016. The Saints quarterback said that he believes some people feel he shouldn't have been behind in those games and that he shouldn't be recognized for such a stat.

Derek Carr believes Saints are in much better shape than in 2023 season

Derek Carr and the New Orleans Saints had an up-and-down season in 2023. New Orleans finished 9-8, behind the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFC South, missing the playoffs.

The 33-year-old quarterback believes the Saints are in a much better position this time than they were last season.

"Coming into this year, we're just trying to build off of what we had last year. The relationships, the bonds, the unity, the time we spend together. I felt like coming into this offseason, compared to last offseason, we're 10 times farther ahead of where we were," Carr said via NFL.com.

The Saints will open the 2024 NFL season with a home divisional game against the Carolina Panthers on Sept. 8. The Saints have the least challenging schedule in the NFL in 2024, but if they can put it all together, they may have a shot to win the NFC South.
