Hurricane Helene left a disastrous impact on Tampa, with more than 44 people dead so far, according to the Associated Press. With the list of victims constantly rising, the owners of the NFL's Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Glazer family, offered to help with a major donation.

On Saturday, the Buccaneers' X account posted a statement revealing the Glazer Family's $1 million donation to local NGOs working toward helping the victims of Hurricane Helene. Sharing the details of the donation, the team's tweet said:

"The Glazer family has pledged $1 million to support local nonprofit organizations aiding those most impacted by Hurricane Helene. The donation will be allocated to support local agencies involved in relief efforts across Tampa Bay."

Due to Hurricane Helene, many citizens moved out of their houses into safe shelter. This included Buccaneers star Baker Mayfield and his family. Following the evacuation, the quarterback's wife, Emily, shared an emotional message on Instagram.

Hurricane Helene had Mayfield and his family evacuate their home. Almost a day after moving into a shelter space, Emily updated fans on her evacuation experience while sharing an update on her family's safety.

"I do not have words to accurately describe my heartbreak for everyone affected by Hurricane Helene. You see this stuff on TV - but until you live through it, you can't fully grasp the terror associated with the unknowns. Baker, Koko, Fergus, and I evacuated yesterday and are safe," Emily said.
"Our sweet, sweet community got pummeled, but even that doesn't compare to the people up North who took this storm head on. It's unfathomable. I'm so thankful to God for protecting us - and our home - and I'm praying nonstop for everyone dealing with the aftermath of the storm, the surge, the damage, the loss," she added.

Emily Mayfield further expressed how she is looking forward to moving out of the city and would appreciate any help. The social media influencer said:

"I am looking for ways to get out and tangibly help. Please send me anything you find —nand I will share the good ones."

While the Glazer family made a donation to Hurricane Helene victims, Baker Mayfield and his wife donated $17,900 to Space Coast High School in Florida for football equipment earlier this month. Later, Emily revealed a heartwarming reason behind the donation.
