Dallas Cowboys fans don't think Bill Belichick would be interested in taking over as the team's coach. Fans are calling for Mike McCarthy to be fired after Dallas got blown out by the Detroit Lions in Week 6.

Dallas suffered a 47-9 home loss to Detroit. It was the second blowout loss at home for the Cowboys this season.

According to ESPN research, Dallas has allowed 167 points in their last 4 home games, including regular season and playoffs.

Following the blowout loss, NFL insider Jordan Schultz wondered if Dallas would hire Belichick and fire McCarthy.

After Schultz posted the question, fans were quick to scoff at the idea.

"Belichick would never work for Jerry Jones," a fan wrote.
"No coach is helping until Jerry lets go of the gm position," a fan added.

Cowboys fans don't think Belichick will help Dallas out, as they believe the roster is flawed.

"Jerry Jones would never hire Bill Belichick simply because Bill also wants to be a GM, and Jerry isn't ever giving up the GM title," a fan added.
"Belichick would need total autonomy on the coaching staff and should bring in a cap guru. Stephen needs to be “reassigned” to another department," a fan wrote.

As fans note, Belichick also likes having control of the roster, which Jones would likely not give up.

"It won't matter who is coaching. It's a mediocre roster," a fan added.
"If Bellichick man's up too them and tells the father/son too back away and let him do his job im all for it but since it ain't gonna happen keep the no making past the WC season record active," a fan added.

Belichick is not coaching this season, as he failed to land a head coaching job after being let go from the New England Patriots at the end of the 2023 NFL season.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones shoots down idea of firing Mike McCarthy

After Dallas suffered a blowout loss to the Detroit Lions, Jerry Jones was quick to turn down the idea of firing Mike McCarthy.

McCarthy is in the final season of his deal, and with Dallas entering their bye week, many felt this was the time to let McCarthy go. But Jones wasn't ready to take this call.

“Oh, I haven’t even considered that, I’m not considering that so you’re clear, I’m not considering that,” Jones said, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “Do you think I’m an idiot? Do you? OK? Well, I’m not gonna hypothetical with you about what I consider coaching change in light of the timing we’re sitting here with, I’m not at all,” he added.

Dallas will go on the road to play the San Francisco 49ers on October 27 after their bye week.
