Amon-Ra St. Brown recalls witnessing Aidan Hutchinson's freak leg injury on the field vs Cowboys - "Oh f**k"

The Lions got a dominant win against the Cowboys in Week 6 that featured Amon-Ra St. Brown capping his night with a touchdown but Aidan Hutchinson's leg injury put a dampener on what should have been a night of celebration for Detroit. Appearing on the St. Brown Podcast with teammate Kerby Joseph, the wide receiver reminisced about what was going through his mind as the defensive end went down.

He asked the safety if he knew what was going on immediately because the defensive unit was on the field at the time, querying,

"Hey, did you know, when you were out there, how bad it was? 'Cause I had no idea. I was on the sideline."

Kerby Joseph replied that he did not witness the gruesome incident but there were signals that something was very wrong with Aidan Hutchinson and teammates were saying that he broke his leg. Appreciating the competitiveness of the defensive end who still logged a sack with a bone fracture, the Lions safety said,

"I just heard, 'cause I was covering, I heard like a "woo," and then I ran up and asked around, and they were just like, "Yo, he said he broke it," you know? And I'm like, "Like how?" I saw him get the sack. He broke his leg and still got the sack. That was the craziest thing ever. But I'm over there just looking, and I'm just like, "Damn, man." Like, I could see the pain in his eyes, but it was just crazy."

Amon-Ra St. Brown then added that he saw Aidan Hutchinson take off his mouthpiece and gloves and a closer look revealed that the injured player was screaming, which caused the wide receiver to exclaim,

"When he threw his mouthpiece out and was taking his gloves off. Like, what the fuck is he doing? Yeah, and he was just screaming. I said, "Oh fuck, bro.""

When can Amon-Ra St. Brown and Lions teammates expect Aidan Hutchinson back after injury vs Cowboys?

Aidan Hutchinson is the star defensive player for the Lions and the injury against the Cowboys was a devastating blow. That it came in a freak accident when he collided with his own teammate would be a bitter pill to swallow for Amon-Ra St. Brown, Kerby Joseph, and his other Detroit teammates. The defensive end's tibia fracture rules him out for the season but he should be good to go for 2025.

For the Lions, though, it is a body blow as they are targeting the Super Bowl this season and will have to deal without a player of his caliber being available for them.
