The Las Vegas Raiders have an incredible legacy in the NFL. The franchise has won three Super Bowl titles and has also had some iconic quarterbacks don the colors of their team over the years.

Here’s a list of the five best quarterbacks that have played for the Las Vegas Raiders/ Oakland Raiders since the team was founded in 1960.


#5, Derek Carr - Las Vegas Raiders (2014-2022)

Derek Carr statistically accomplished more than any other Raiders quarterback during his nine years with the team. The former Fresno State star was picked up by Las Vegas in the second round of the 2014 NFL draft.

Carr has a 63-79 record in his NFL career with the Raiders. However, he is the team's all-time leader in passing yards (35,222) and touchdowns (217).

He led the Las Vegas Raiders to the postseason twice in nine years. However, the team was eliminated in the wild-card round on both occasions.

#4, Rich Gannon, Oakland Raiders (1999-2004)

Rich Gannon signed for the Raiders when he was 34. However, he became a weapon of destruction when he signed for the then-Oakland outfit.

Gannon earned Pro Bowl honors in each of his first four years with the franchise, helping the Raiders to three divisional titles. He racked up a 45-29 win-loss record with 17,585 passing yards and 114 touchdowns across six seasons with the team.

The quarterback led the Raiders to a Super Bowl in 2003 but failed to get over the line against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

#3, Daryle Lamonica - Oakland Raiders (1967-1974)

Daryle Lamonica is widely regarded as one of the best quarterbacks to have played for the Raiders. The late quarterback signed for the Oakland-based team in 1967 and led them to a 13-1 regular-season record and the AFL championship.

However, Lamonica's only Super Bowl appearance with the Raiders ended in a 33-14 loss to the Green Bay Packers. He finished with 16,655 passing yards and 148 touchdowns in eight seasons with the team.

#2, Jim Plunkett - Oakland/ Los Angeles Raiders (1979-1986)

Jim Plunkett joined the Oakland Raiders in 1978 after underwhelming stints with the New England Patriots and San Francisco 49ers. However, he rejuvenated his career with the Raiders

Plunkett led the team to a Super Bowl win over the Philadelphia Eagles in 1981. He once again led the relocated Los Angeles Raiders to a Super Bowl triumph in 1984, taking down the Washington outfit.

In total, Plunkett finished with a 38-19 win-loss record and an 8-2 record in the postseason during his eight years as a Raider. He racked up 12,665 passing yards and 80 touchdowns as well.

#1, Ken Stabler - Oakland Raiders (1970-1979)

Ken Stabler is widely regarded as the greatest quarterback to have played for the Raiders. The late NFL star led the team to their first-ever Super Bowl win in 1977, beating the Minnesota Vikings in the big game.

Additionally, Stabler never had a losing season with the Raiders, finishing with a 91-35-4 record. He also won four Pro Bowl honors during his time with the team.

In total, Stabler finished with 19,078 passing yards and 150 touchdowns during his 10-year spell with the team.
