Los Angeles Chargers rookie wide receiver Ladd McConkey featured on the team's injury report on Thursday as the squad started preparation for their Week 7 matchup with the Arizona Cardinals.

McConkey sustained a head injury during the Week 6 victory over the Denver Broncos, but he eventually recovered from it. An entirely unrelated injury hampered the wideout in practice; the team listed a hip condition as the reason for his limited practice participation on Thursday.

As Monday night's game against the Cardinals draws near, it's crucial to monitor how much work McConkey puts in at practice on Friday, even though it's possible the Chargers were just being cautious with him.

WRs Quentin Johnston and Simi Fehoko were listed on the team's injury report on Thursday in addition to McConkey. Johnston was listed as a nonparticipant in practice on Thursday because of an ankle injury he sustained over the weekend, while Fehoko was designated as limited because of shoulder/groin issues.

Ladd McConkey is still expected to play against the Cardinals unless he suffers an injury setback that comes up during the next two injury reports on Friday and Saturday.

In the event that McConkey or Johnston are unable to play on Monday, the Chargers will look to players such as Joshua Palmer and Simi Fehoko to take on more offensive duties.

Ladd McConkey injury update: What happened to the Chargers WR?

Wide receiver Ladd McConkey collided with Denver Broncos cornerback Patrick Surtain II in Week 6 on the Los Angeles Chargers' opening offensive play of the game.

Following the play, both players had concussion screening. McConkey returned after passing his concussion evaluation late in the first quarter, but Surtain was sidelined for the rest of the game.

The rookie wide receiver helped his team defeat the Broncos 23-16 by finishing the game with four receptions for 43 yards from eight targets.

Ladd McConkey appeared on the Chargers' first injury report of the week on Thursday, but it was not because of a head injury. Rather, he was designated with a hip problem.

The young receiver's injury is not thought to be significant, though it is unclear how it happened. He still has Friday and Saturday to complete full practice participation before the Chargers' Week 7 matchup with the Arizona Cardinals on Monday Night Football takes place.
