If you missed the fact that the Los Angeles Chargers were on a bye week in Week 5, Kimani Vidal was more than happy to remind you of what you might have missed.

Like Sean Tucker, the Chargers running back announced himself to the world in Week 6 when they went up against a tough-as-nails Denver Broncos defense. Vidal's first touch in the National Football League went about as well as anyone could have hoped for as he ended up rushing for a 38-yard touchdown. Here's why you need to race to pick up Vidal off the waiver wire for Week 7.

We know that the Chargers will be without Gus Edwards for the next few weeks, considering the franchise placed him on Injured Reserve. So. Kimani Vidal really couldn't have picked a better time to announce himself as the Chargers' RB2.

He's stil behind J.K. Dobbins in the scheme of things but based on his Week 6 game log, coach Jim Harbaugh will have to think twice before leaving him out altogether.

The sixth-round pick out of Troy received a decent level of hype in the 2024 NFL Draft after leading the nation in carries (297) and rushing for 1,661 yards and 14 touchdowns. But we've seen how this league treats running backs, so it wasn't much of a surprise he slipped down to the sixth round.

In any case, Vidal had a total of six touches on Sunday, racking up 49 scrimmage yards, including a touchdown. The Chargers will go up against Arizona in Week 7 and we know they are committed to a run-heavy offense, thanks to Greg Roman. This means we're likely to see Vidal a little more involved going forward, so you can now treat him as the primary handcuff for Dobbins in this backfield.

Vidal is currently owned in 2.3% of ESPN leagues and 11% of Yahoo! leagues.
