Keon Coleman or Curtis Samuel: Who should I start for Fantasy Football Week 1?

We're two games into Week 1 of fantasy football and we've already seen some pretty huge upticks from the likes of Isaiah Likely, Xavier Worthy and Saquon Barkley. But now it's time for Sunday's slate of fixtures and one game to keep an eye out for is where the Arizona Cardinals face the Buffalo Bills.

The Cardinals have stocked up on fantasy weapons like Marvin Harrison Jr. and Kyler Murray, which is always a good shout for points. But the Bills let Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis go in the offseason, so now it's down to Keon Coleman or Curtis Samuel when it comes to fantasy points.

Here's everything you need to know about which Bills WR to start for Week 1.

Keon Coleman fantasy outlook for Week 1

It's not a super favorable matchup for any Bills wide receiver this week. It's a big jump up from college football to the NFL and everything we have heard about Keon Coleman in preseason was that he was struggling to create separation.

That's a learning curve and will only be ironed out through more reps after facing more NFL defenses. Coleman entered the season as WR46 (109 overall) on our Fantasy Football rankings for Week 1.

All things considered, Coleman could face a tough time this afternoon against the Cardinals.

Curtis Samuel fantasy outlook for Week 1

Which brings us to Coleman's teammate Curtis Samuel.

Samuel entered the season a touch lower than Coleman in our rankings (WR50, 114 overall), so there isn't much cause for optimism there either. Samuel didn't exactly set the world of fantasy football alight during his time with the Washington Commanders. But there's a caveat here. Samuel had Sam Howell and Taylor Heinicke as his quarterbacks. That's not what we'd categorize as talent to work with.

Having Josh Allen as his quarterback will be a significant upgrade but Samuel's fantasy outlook does not make for inspirational reading this week. Sportskeeda's Who Should I Start tool projects a return of 6.4 points for Samuel, and we're inclined to agree with the projection here.

Khalil Shakir fantasy outlook for Week 1

If you're jonesing to have a Bills WR in your starting lineup this week (which is not a course of action we would recommend), Khalil Shakir is your man.

Now mind you, his fantasy outlook isn't the most exciting one. He entered the season at #118 overall (WR53) in our rankings, which is, of course, below both his teammates in the WR room.

But if we take a short-term view here, Josh Allen could turn to Shakir a little more often given his experience.

Our tool projects a return of 8.7 points for Shakir off 3 receptions and 46 yards. Don't expect a touchdown return, but if you're leaning toward the Bills, look at Shakir this week out of the three WRs the Bills will call upon.
