Jordan Addison Rookie Contract: How much will Vikings WR earn in Minnesota?

According to Spotrac, Jordan Addison signed a rookie deal worth $13,731,739 over four years. The South California alum sealed this contract by virtue of being the No. 23 pick in the 2023 NFL draft.

The Minnesota Vikings selected Addison after a stellar college career. He was drafted to give the team much-needed depth behind superstar pass catcher Justin Jefferson and year two K. J. Osborn. So far this season, he has done just that.

Jordan Addison's college football career

Jordan Addison started college football at the University of Pittsburgh, where he routinely ran circles around the competition. Addison was so good that he elected to transfer to the University of Southern California in order to experience the thrill of better competition. During his time in Pittsburgh, Jordan Addison accumulated a stat line of 2,259 receiving yards and 21 touchdowns in 22 starts with the Panthers.

Hence, the former two-position athlete joined USC in May 2022. That decision proved to be a masterstroke, as his performances at USC shot him up numerous draft boards. Addison ended his college career with a stat line of 3,134 receiving yards and 29 TDs in 33 games. Not bad for a journeyman pass catcher in his short stint at the collegiate level.

Jordan Addison's NFL timeline

As mentioned above, Addison was scouted and selected by the Minnesota Vikings with the No. 23 pick of the 2023 draft. Upon entering the building, Addison took his spot as the team's third-string wide receiver behind Jefferson and Osborn. However, this didn't stop Addison from playing his best and waiting for his opportunity.

He has since gotten that chance, in part due to circumstances beyond the team's control. Jefferson has been struck with an injury, and Osborn isn't as good as initially thought. Hence, it's a fresh-faced rookie who has become Kirk Cousins' biggest target since Week 5. Addison has since repaid his franchise's faith, racking up 22 receptions, 277 receiving yards, and four touchdowns in six games played so far in his rookie year. He's well on his way to being an outside bet for the 2023 Offensive Rookie of the Year Award.
