Jonathan Taylor is the starting running back on one of the most rush-heavy offenses in the league. The former Pro Bowler is a yardage threat with the ability to shift the momentum of a game almost at will.

Before Week 7, let's examine Taylor's availability and whether fantasy football managers should be worried.

Should fantasy managers be concerned about Jonathan Taylor?

Jonathan Taylor did not participate in team practice on Wednesday ahead of their game against the Miami Dolphins. He has been out since Week 4 after suffering an ankle sprain versus the Pittsburgh Steelers. He hasn't seen the practice pitch since the injury.

Taylor is one of the best fantasy players at his position when fit, so several managers are eagerly waiting for his return. Speaking to Tom Pelissero about his injury, Taylor said:

“I’m definitely feeling better this week. Ankles are nothing new to me. … Doing everything in my power to be back out there again this week. You know the high ankles are always tricky, especially when you’re playing a high-contact sport like this.”

Fantasy managers should be slightly concerned about Taylor ahead of Week 7 at least. The longer he's unable to practice, the less likely he is to play against the Dolphins. Taylor's fantasy managers should have a decent backup running back just in case until Taylor is cleared to return to the Gridiron.

How has Jonathan Taylor performed this season?

Jonathan Taylor was superb before he suffered an ankle injury. He amassed a stat line of 349 rushing yards and four touchdowns in four games. At the time of his injury, he ranked among the best in runs of at least 10 yards.

However, since his injury, the Colts have operated a committee system comprising Trey Sermon and Tyler Goodson. Pending Taylor's return, the pair might be tasked with breaking down the Dolphins defense in Week 7. It'll be interesting to see how Shane Steichen sets up his side against Mike McDaniel's defense.
