Jermaine Burton 2024 NFL Draft projection: How high could Alabama WR go?

Alabama Crimson Tide Jermaine Burton is part of the deep wide receiver group in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Burton began his college career at Georgia, and after two years, transferred to Alabama for his final two seasons. The six-foot wide receiver recorded 39 receptions for 798 yards and eight touchdowns last season for the Crimson Tide.

So, with the wide receiver class very deep, where will Burton end up being selected?

Jermaine Burton 2024 NFL Draft Projection

Jermaine Burton is projected to be a late Day 2 pick, as he's projected to be selected in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft.

The Pro Football Network's 2024 NFL Draft Big Board has Burton as the 79th-ranked prospect entering the draft. Burton has blazing speed and is elite at catching deep ball passes, which should make him useful in the NFL.

However, a knock on Burton is his route-running, while his temper is also a concern, as he received penalty flags for unsportsmanlike conduct and taunting in college.

Buffalo Bills

The Buffalo Bills are expected to draft multiple wide receivers in the 2024 NFL Draft, especially after trading Stefon Diggs to Houston.

Buffalo saw Gabe Davis sign in Jacksonville in free agency, and Burton would be a good replacement for him. Burton could be the deep ball threat that Davis was but would come much cheaper, which is crucial for the Bills, who are right up against the cap.

Carolina Panthers

The Carolina Panthers need to add more weapons for Bryce Young. His former teammate Jermaine Burton would be a good fit.

In the lone season the two played at Alabama in 2022, Burton recorded 40 receptions for 677 yards and seven touchdowns. Only Adam Thielen and Jonathan Mingo are the wide receivers Carolina has under contract past the 2024 season. With that, the Panthers should at least draft one wide receiver in this deep class.

Cincinnati Bengals

The Cincinnati Bengals franchise-tagged Tee Higgins, but the Bengals will need to try and draft his replacement should they not be able to find a long-term deal.

Burton could replace Tyler Boyd who is still a free agent, as the Bengals could get the Alabama wide receiver in on a cost-effective rookie deal to add to their receiving room.
