Fantasy managers should not expect to see Kansas City Chiefs RB Isiah Pacheco against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 7, as he's still on IR since he sustained a leg injury in Week 2 and has missed the last three games.

He is eligible to be reactivated in a week's time, but given the severity of his lower leg injury, it's possible that it will take him longer than five weeks to fully recover.

Pacheco was expected to miss more games than the league's four-game minimum for players placed on injured reserve after suffering a leg injury against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 2. ESPN also said he is expected to be out for six to eight weeks.

Kansas City coach Andy Reid offered an entirely distinct narrative on the RB's anticipated return date, revealing that Pacheco underwent surgery to repair a fractured right fibula and might even miss the remainder of the campaign.

"I can't give you a time when he'll return," said Reid. "We'll just see if it's this season or next season.”

By virtue of being placed on IR, Pacheco is eligible to play for the Chiefs in their Week 8 matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders, but that is unlikely. If he does make a comeback this season, it seems more likely that it will be in November.

Reid hasn't provided a definite timeframe for the two-time Super Bowl champion's possible return as of yet.

Isiah Pacheco injury update: What happened to the Chiefs' RB?

Isiah Pacheco sustained an injury during the Kansas City Chiefs' 26-25 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals at Arrowhead Stadium. He got his leg stuck before hobbling off the field late in the second half of the game.

Pacheco walked out of the stadium with a walking boot after the game. He was put on injured reserve that same week after it was later discovered that he had fractured his fibula.

Isiah Pacheco has been an essential member of the Chiefs’ offense since he joined in 2022, surpassing 1,100 total yards last campaign.

Kareem Hunt was signed by the Chiefs shortly before their Week 4 matchup with the Los Angeles Chargers following Pacheco's injury. Since then, the veteran back has become the team's clear starter. He has been the one responsible for 63.1% of Kansas City's rush attempts since his debut.
