Is Rome Odunze playing tonight? Latest on Bears WR for Week 3 NFL preseason vs Chiefs (IMAGN)

The Chicago Bears selected Rome Odunze with the ninth pick of the 2024 NFL draft. The former Washington Huskies star was one of three top-tier wideouts, alongside Marvin Harrison Jr. and Malik Nabers, to be selected early in the draft.

Ahead of the Bears' final preseason game of 2024, Odunze and the rest of the team's starters will not play against the Kansas City Chiefs. According to Yahoo Sports, Bears coach Matt Eberflus will rest the majority of his starters for the game against the reigning Super Bowl champions.

Thus, the starters will now have three weeks until the Week 1 game at Soldier Field against the Tennessee Titans.

What to expect from the Bears in 2024?

The Chicago Bears' fan base has dealt with numerous disappointments over the years. The franchise has seen many false starts and had another season to forget in 2023. However, due to some inspired general manager nous, they pulled off a trade with the Carolina Panthers that ended up getting them a certain Caleb Williams in 2024.

Thus, it's out with Justin Fields and in with the most hyped rookie quarterback since Trevor Lawrence. Caleb Williams was a college football superstar and has the 2022 Heisman Trophy to show for his efforts. Williams enters the upcoming season with great expectations, and Chicago fans will be hoping that he can hit the ground running.

The Bears will be expected to make at least a playoff push in 2024. Coach Matt Eberflus' job rides on it, with the head coach narrowly surviving the sack in 2023. Caleb Williams will have DJ Moore, Keenan Allen and Odunze to throw to. Anything less than a better record than 2023 will be seen as a huge disappointment in Chicago.
