Lamar Jackson's Baltimore Ravens is arguably among the top five teams NFL fans are most excited to watch in 2024 after what was a more than eventful offseason that saw superstar running back Derrick Henry sign on the dotted line to come to Baltimore.
And while Ravens fans were rightly hyped up to catch a glimpse of Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry in the same offense, it appears they will have to wait a little while longer.
Ravens coach John Harbaugh confirmed to reporters that Jackson will play no part in any of their preseason games. As things stand, Henry will also not have a part to play against the Falcons:
"It will be the same direction as last week," Harbaugh told reporters.
The Ravens sat 17 starters in their preseason opener against the Philadelphia Eagles.
In the reigning NFL MVP's absence, veteran quarterback Josh Johnson, who's second on the Ravens depth chart, will take most of the reps.
Falcons starter Kirk Cousins will also not feature in this game, with rookie Michael Penix Jr. expected to get most of the reps in his place.

Breaking down rest of the Ravens' schedule
After the Week 2 preseason game against the Falcons, the Ravens will take a short breather and travel to Wisconsin to take on the Green Bay Packers on Saturday, Aug. 24.
Then, it's on to the blockbuster Week 1 opener against the back-to-back defending Super Bowl champions Kansas City Chiefs where Lamar Jackson will certainly be under center. The game is slated for a Thursday Night Football kickoff at 8:20 p.m. Eastern from Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City.
The Ravens have a rough opening schedule with their first five games coming against the Chiefs, Raiders, Cowboys, Bills and Bengals but Jackson, Henry and Co. will be determined to once again reign supreme in what is likely to be a very competitive AFC North.
