Justin Fields will play against the Lions at Ford Field on Saturday. He is listed as active on the Steelers' roster.

Pittsburgh will start with Russell Wilson at Detroit, but Fields is expected to replace the veteran signal-caller later in the game for some reps.

Earlier this week, Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said he plans to give his starters one last tuneup against the Lions before the regular season. Tomlin also explained that he would give players fighting for roster spots one final chance in the preseason finale.

In the Steelers' preseason opener against the Texans, Fields completed five of six passes for 67 yards in their 20-12 loss. He then made 11 of 17 passes for 92 yards against the Buffalo Bills in Pittsburgh's 9-3 defeat on Aug. 17.

Now, it will be interesting to see how Fields fares in the preseason finale against the Lions on Saturday.
