David Montgomery and the Detroit Lions will be in primetime action in Week 4 as they host the undefeated Seattle Seahawks at Ford Field on Monday Night Football. The home team is 2-1 this season. Detroit is looking to cut the gap to NFC North leaders Minnesota Vikings, who survived a fourth-quarter onslaught from the Green Bay Packers with a 31-29 win to improve to 4-0.

The Lions opened their 2024 campaign with a 26-20 overtime win over the Los Angeles Rams before losing a thriller, 20-16, to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 2. They bounced back with a 20-13 win in Week 3 over the Arizona Cardinals and are looking to string together a run of two wins for the first time this season.

Detroit will likely lean on its stellar ground game to get the win on Monday night, which will put running back David Montgomery in the spotlight.

Is David Montgomery playing in Week 4 vs. the Seahawks?

The six-year veteran missed three games last season through injury. But there are no concerns about his health heading into their Monday Night Football clash with the Seahawks.

David Montgomery has had a strong start to the season. Through three games, he has 231 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns on 51 carries. He was stellar in the wins over the Rams and the Cardinals. He rushed for 91 yards in the win over Los Angeles and 105 against Arizona.

The 27-year-old has scored one touchdown in each of the Lions' three outings, including their loss to Tampa Bay. However, he ran for only 35 yards, and Detroit failed to win despite quarterback Jared Goff having his most prolific game as a passer, highlighting how crucial Montgomery's work on the ground is to the Lions' success.

Detroit last met the Seahawks in Week 2 of the 2023 season, losing 37-31 in extra time at Ford Field. Montgomery finished the game with 67 yards and one touchdown on 16 carries, albeit in a losing effort.

The running back and the Lions will be keen on not only getting the win to close the gap on the Vikings but also exact revenge for their loss from last season.
