Chris Olave won't play against the Broncos on Thursday night. The Saints wideout has been in the concussion protocols and is ruled out for the Week 7 game.

Olave didn't participate in practice for the Saints during the week. Saints coach Dennis Allen confirmed on Wednesday that the wideout won't play against Denver.

Olave suffered a concussion during New Orleans' Week 6 defeat to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He took a nasty helmet-to-helmet hit with Bucs cornerback Zyon McCollum in the first quarter, and the play resulted in a fumble; he recovered and returned for a touchdown by Tampa Bay.

Olave got on his feet and was checked for concussion. He didn't return and was subsequently placed under the NFL's concussion protocols. The timeline of his return hasn't been announced yet.

In six appearances for the Saints this season, Olave has racked up 280 yards on 23 receptions and caught a touchdown. He will miss his first game of the season against the Broncos on Thursday.
