Is A.J. Brown playing vs Buccaneers? Latest on Eagles WR's sprained knee for NFC Wild Card showdown

A.J. Brown has played another key role for the Philadelphia Eagles this season. The wideout was immense in the regular season, racking up 1,456 yards and seven touchdowns on 106 receptions to help the Eagles reach the playoffs.

However, Brown is dealing with a knee injury and is ruled out for their NFC Wild Card round matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, as per ESPN's Adam Schefter.

A.J. Brown did not partake in any of the Philadelphia Eagles' training sessions this week. The receiver is nursing a sprained knee and has not recovered in time to feature in the first-round playoff game against Tampa Bay.

However, reports suggest that Brown should be able to return for the Divisional Round next week, if the Eagles are able to beat the Buccaneers on Monday night.

Nonetheless, Brown's absence in the NFC Wild Card game will come as a major blow for the Eagles. The wideout is leading his team in receiving yards and has been Jalen Hurts' favorite target this season.

Brown picked up an injury to his right knee in Philadelphia's Week 18 game against the New York Giants. He was tackled to the ground in the first quarter by Giants cornerback Nick McCloud.

The three-time Pro Bowler limped off the field and did not return for the remainder of the game. Due to the knee injury, Brown will now also miss Philadelphia's first playoff game of the season.

In some off-field drama surrounding Brown, he deleted all posts related to the Eagles from his Instagram page on Friday. A few hours later, he deactivated his X (formally Twitter) account.
