Injuries are piling up across the NFL. Your fantasy football roster has more holes than your favorite pair of jeans. You could be staring at 0-2 in some leagues. Now isn’t the time to panic; it’s the time to adjust. Week 3 offers you the chance to make some season-shifting trades that let you buy low on players who can carry you back into the playoff mix. Let’s dive into my favorite options to buy and sell for this week.

Fantasy Football Week 3 Trade Targets: Which players to buy

1 - Chris Olave (WR, Saints)

This Saints offense under new offensive coordinator Kliff Kubiak is a monster. New Orleans has scored over 40 points in back-to-back weeks. The only problem is Olave hasn’t been a major part of any of it. That’s OK. This is your buying opportunity on a player someone likely spent a second-round pick on and is growing impatient with.

Olave is one of the top 15 talents at the receiver position, and his underlying metrics are still off the charts. Per Ryan Heath of Fantasy Points, Olave led the Saints with a 37.5% target share in Week 2. That’s incredible. He’s running the most routes on the team; the ball just hasn’t found him in the endzone yet. That will change. Buy low on Olave.

2 - Travis Kelce (TE, Chiefs)

With Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco going down and potentially missing an extended period, Kansas City will need to find other ways to move the football. You might think Travis Kelce fits in that scenario, but he does.

Through two weeks, Kelce has done nothing for fantasy. His four catches aren’t helping his owner. But he was tackled just shy of the goal line in Week 2, and without Pacheco, I believe Kelce will be used as an extension of the running game. Look for more screens and short passes to fill the void left by Pacheco’s absence. See if his owner is already “Down Bad.”

3 - Garrett Wilson (WR, Jets)

I love Wilson. He’s an absolute stud. The window to buy on him will rapidly close. I want you to make an offer for him today. Touchdowns are fickle, and fantasy owners get nervous when their early-round picks don’t have any after a few weeks. Wilson leads the Jets in targets, receptions, and yards. He just hasn’t scored. That will change. Go get your hands on a top-five talent before he erupts.

4 - Brock Bowers (TE, Raiders)

This rookie is a monster. There’s a hole at tight end already across fantasy football, and Bowers is ready to fill it with points. Make sure those points are helping you and not your opponents.

Bowers's 125 receiving yards is the most of any TE in Raiders history. Bowers is currently the TE 2 on the year, but I doubt his owner drafted him as a starter. Once Bowers finds the end zone, it’s over. Make the call now.

Fantasy Football Week 3: Which players to trade away

1 - Rashid Shaheed (WR, Saints)

Listen, the Saints' offensive explosion is great. I’m all for it. I just told you to go buy Chris Olave earlier in this article. My point about selling high on Shaheed is you drafted him as likely your fourth or fifth receiver. He wasn’t included in your long-term plans.

Flip him today for a running back or tight end upgrade. Will he keep catching bombs for touchdowns every week? Probably not. I’m not saying he’s going to fall off a cliff, either. What I want you to do is sell an asset you acquired for next to nothing and flip him for a player taken five rounds ahead of him in drafts.

2 - Zay Flowers (WR, Ravens)

Followers of mine know I love to knock Flowers. It’s not because I think he isn’t talented; he is. I just don’t like the way the Ravens use him. His average depth of target has been microscopic over the start of his career. That means they aren’t using him downfield, where he excelled in college.

After Week 2, when he had a great week and scored, it was the perfect time to trade him at his value’s peak. I’d see if I could get a running back like Tony Pollard or our guy Brock Bowers for the Ravens WR.
